Dogkit English Lab

Home / Coaches

Four coaches. Zero rotation roulette.

We hire slowly and keep the team small on purpose — every coach below plans lessons in the same weekly meeting, so your learning plan survives holidays, reschedules and everything else.

Portrait of English coach Eleanor Whitfield
United Kingdom

Eleanor Whitfield

Exam specialist with nine years of IELTS and PTE preparation behind her, including three as a certified speaking assessor. Eleanor runs the mock-test cycle and is famous for feedback that stings for a minute and lifts bands for good. CELTA, MA Applied Linguistics.

Portrait of English coach Jake Morrison
United States

Jake Morrison

Conversation and fluency lead from Portland, Oregon. Jake spent six years teaching in Seoul and Ho Chi Minh City before settling in KL, and designs the role-plays that make our fluency labs feel like games rather than drills. TESOL certified.

Fiona MacLeod

Our junior-programme designer, previously a primary school teacher in Glasgow for seven years. Fiona builds the story arcs, phonics games and drawing prompts behind Kids English Adventures — and writes the parent notes herself. PGDE Primary, TEYL certified.

Nathan Brooks

Business communication coach from Toronto with a first career in management consulting. Nathan coaches negotiation calls, investor pitches and the fine art of the two-line email. He teaches our Business Communication course end to end. CELTA, MBA.

How we hire

What every Dogkit coach must have

  1. Native fluency

English as a first language, full stop. The rhythm and idiom you absorb should be the real thing.

  2. A teaching credential

CELTA, TESOL or an equivalent classroom qualification — enthusiasm alone does not structure a lesson.

  3. Three years minimum

Every coach has taught for at least three years before their first Dogkit class. Most have far more.

  4. The Friday table

Coaches join weekly planning and swap learner notes, so your plan is reviewed by four experts, not one.
